8 months down...4 weeks to go!

Here's my 8 month pregnant belly in all it's glory. The time has actually really gone by very quickly. I can't believe I only have 4 weeks left until my due date! We went to a prenatal class last night, and out of 12 couples, only one other was due as soon as us. Crazy- I am so excited to meet our new little boy!

World Class Moochers

On Sunday morning, we had to leave our hotel in Louiville at 6 a.m. in order for Adam and Sarah to make their flight out of Nashville on time. Their flight left at 10 a.m. Our flight left at 5:15 p.m. That's a big difference! So, after finding out that we couldn't just check our luggage early, Adam and Sarah were nice enough to check our luggage as their luggage. As our luggage made it's way home via Denver, we had to figure out what to do with our 8 hours before our fligh was due to leave. We had heard about an amazing resort called Gaylord Opryland, so we set off to find a way there. After deciding that renting a car was way too pricy, we asked the lady at the desk in the airport about the resort. We told her our sob story about having to wait around for 8 hours, and she wrote us a note that said, "These folks have a long layover and are touring Gaylord Resort for lunch and possible return stay." Then she signed it. She told us to show it to the bus driver and we should be OK. Tickets to ride the shuttle/bus round trip ordinarily cost $34.00 each!!!!! So, we get to the resort, and here is what we saw:

We were so exhausted after the conference (VERY late hours), and since my feet swell any chance they get, we found a little gazebo with some benches and hi-jacked it for a little while.

Later on that day, after walking about 1/2 a mile each way to Shoney's for lunch, we crashed again on a couch in the fancy shmancy lobby for about 45 min. We are talking multi-million dollar resort, and here we are crashed on the couch. Anyway, it was great fun, and we are now very glad to be home!

Louiville (lou-i-vul)

Richard and I just got back from a fantastic leadership conference in Louiville. We left on Friday morning early, flew into Nashville, and then along with Kayla (Richard's sister) and Adam and Sarah Cluff, we rented a car and drove on down to Louiville for the conference that started Friday evening. The car that we got was a Kia something, and me, Richard, and Kayla were all crammed into the backseat! It was a crazy 3 hour drive, with our bodies doing interesting contortions the whole way just to try and stretch something. Looking back, it's pretty funny, but during the process... Anyway, here are some pictures of the conference: On the way there Saturday morning. Don't you love the way he is smashing my eye closed?

Justin Seay- he got in a motorcycle accident about a month ago, so he was limping around and icing his knee a lot. What a trooper!

Behind Richard and I are Raul and Charles- this was their 1st conference. We are so excited for them! Charles drove all the way from Phoenix with some other guys on our team. They are going to be great leaders. Way to go!

More Realistic...

OK, so after posting that last picture of my enormous belly, I kept looking at it and looking at it, and I came to the conclusion that I am not really that big. There's no way. So, although my face is not the cutest in this picture, here is another belly shot...
Ahhh, that makes me feel a little better. :o)

Two More Months!

OK- So I had no idea how big my belly is! I guess I don't see it from this angle very often. So, for those people who still haven't figured out that I am indeed pregnant- Hello! How can there be any doubt at all? Oh well, they can just think I had an amazing weight loss over the summer. So here I am at 7 months prego. The baby is due 2 months from today! It's crazy how fast it has gone. I am just hoping that the summer just moves right along. If anyone ever wants to join me in the pool for some swim time, just give me a call!

For Memorial Day, we had Richard's sisters Morgan and Kayla come over, as well as Tim and Shirell and their family. Plus, Uncle Curtis and Aunt Eleanor, Audra and Ron and their 3 kiddos. It was quite the group. We had some homemade lemonade, which unfortunately boiled all over into the stove. Just so you can see exactly what we were dealing with...

And lastly, my first attempt at canning chicken. Thanks to Richard for de-boning the chicken before I stuffed them in the jars. It was a messy job, but now we have a bunch of canned chicken, already seasoned and everything!

That's Just Sad...

OK, I know that I am quite possibly the worst blogger ever in the history of blogging. I am also one of the worst picture takers, too, just for the record. So, between me not taking any pictures and NEVER updating this darn blog, I can't believe anyone would still even be checking up. But, for those who thought maybe there was a chance that I put a little update on here, this is for you. First of all, we've moved. We are attempting to get our house rented out, and we moved into my parent's home. Yes, we are even staying in the bedroom I grew up in. It just seemed like a great opportunity to save some money for while. (Richard and I both still have incomes, thank Heaven...) Elder and Sister Allen return from their mission in early September, so we'll cohabitate for a while. We can do this...
Let's see... April: General Conference was amazing, as usual. Easter was fairly uneventful, except for the moving in the rain, of course. I got to spend a weekend in San Diego with a bunch of high school students (joy, Joy JOY!) The next weekend I got to spend in Tucson with yet a different bunch of high school students. Poor Richard, stuck at home with nothing but hot dogs to eat. (hot dogs were his choice, by the way)
May (so far): Garage Sale- we didn't sell nearly enough junk, but the garage is a bit more cleared out. Bye bye ugly blue couches. (finally)
That's our biggest news so far. The baby's still growing and moving more every day. He has finally started cooperating more so that Richard can actually feel him move, too. We are excited to meet this little guy!
